You Do Not See an Existing Backup Set listed in the Backup Software

Issue

When trying to restore from an existing backup, there are no Existing Backup Sets listed

Resolution

Use the Repair Catalog feature to locate the backup set

Procedure

How to use the Repair Catalog option:

1. Start the Backup Software and you do not see an existing Backup Set in listed
2. Click the “Can’t see your Backup set in the list?” button in the Backup module home wizard as shown below.

3. The “Select the storage device” dialog will appear as shown below. Select the drive which has the Backup Sets and click the OK button.

4. It will display the “Select the Backup set…” option dialog page like the following figure. Now select your Backup Set and click on OK button

5. After click the OK button, it will ask “Are there any other storage devices in the Backup set?” message box as shown

Note: If the destination disk space got filled during the Backup process, then the application asks for another drive to continue the process. In this case, the backup files are stored in multiple destination drives. It is called Spanned Backup. Once the destination drive (ex: Disk 1) got filled during the backup process, application displayed the following dialog as “Not enough free space available.  Select a disk to add as storage to”. If you have chosen any other drive (ex: Disk 2) to continue the Backup process. (As shown below)

6. Click “Yes” button if the Backup store is available in any other location (like Disk2, Disk3, etc.), otherwise, click the “No” button and continue the Repair process.

7. Once the Repair Catalog process has completed you will now seee the backup set listed in the Backup Software.
